Jordan Brand hosted its 14th annual Jordan Brand Classic, which showcased the top boys, girls and international high school basketball players in a quadruple-header event at Barclays Center.
Showcasing some of the nation’s best basketball talents, the Jordan Brand Classic National Boys Game featured several high-caliber performances, with the West ultimately beating the East, 118-116. Allonzo Trier (Henderson, NV) scored a game-high 28 points to take MVP for the West, while Cheick Diallo (Centereach, NY) had a double-double with 26 points and 11 rebounds, finishing as MVP of the East.
Prior to the national game, elite talent from around the globe battled on the hardwood in the Jordan Brand Classic International. The White team captured the win, 63-58.
The inaugural Jordan Brand Classic National Girls Game, hosted by reigning WNBA MVP and champion Maya Moore, was packed with highlight-reel moments of the nation’s premier female basketball prospects. The East came out victorious, 76-75, with Napheesa Collier (St. Louis, MO) and Taja Cole (Chesterfield, VA) taking home MVP honors for the East and West respectively.
Following the girl’s game, the best local talent took to the floor in the Regional Game, with a final score of Away 125, Home 112.
Fans were treated to interactive experiences including a skills challenge, photo booth and shoeshine station throughout the event at Barclays Center.
The games drew talent both on and off the court, with special guest appearances by Carmelo Anthony, Victor Oladipo and Michael-Kidd Gilchrist. World-renowned rapper and friend of Jordan Brand, Nicki Minaj, closed out the action-packed evening with a high-powered music performance.
JORDAN BRAND CLASSIC EXPERIENCES
In addition to the high-level of competition on the court, Jordan Brand Classic participants get to experience the high energy of NYC off the court. After practice with fellow top basketball talent at Terminal 23 – the brand’s pinnacle performance space – players were introduced to various select experiences during their stay in Manhattan.
To kick off the week players bowled at Lucky Strike with Jordan Brand family members Victor Oladipo and Andre Drummond. On Wednesday, players navigated through the city to explore several iconic city landmarks like the Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Center, Times Square and Madison Square Garden, where they were provided a private behind-the-scenes tour of the facilities. Following practice later that evening, players were treated to an interactive dining experience at Dave & Busters in the heart of Times Square.
On Thursday, the athletes continued their New York City immersion with a visit to the 9/11 Memorial, Central Park and participated in a boxing workout at the renowned Church Street Gym. To cap off the day, the athletes attended the annual JBC awards dinner followed by ping-pong and pop-a-shot basketball challenges in the player’s lounge.
After a week of iconic experiences in New York City, the top basketball players from around the world became the stars as they displayed their talent in the competitive matchups of the 14th annual Jordan Brand Classic.
